Happy birthday week to me. The celebrations have already begun. I was treated to an incredible surprise sound bath at the weekend that sent me into another dimension. It was exactly what I needed. I’m looking forward to having a week of spending quality time with my nearest and dearest. And by quality time I mean everyone singing karaoke to me in the pub.Â
This week (and every week) I read
. I’ve read her books Wintering and Enchantment and take her wisdom as gospel. She has a beautiful way of looking at the world, full of wonder and curiosity. She wrote about adapting to the darker nights drawing in for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Finding ways to inject the light back in, whilst also easing into the changes that autumn and winter bring.I’ve been searching for something to wear for my birthday this weekend. I’m lost for ideas and have almost left it too late. A classic move. I think I might actually see if there’s anything I like that I can rent. I’m yet to use a clothes rental service despite being inundated with sponsored Instagram ads encouraging me to do so. Perhaps it’s not a bad idea to stop me from buying something in haste that I’ll never wear again?
If you are yet to watch the Beckham documentary yet on Netflix I beg that you find four hours right now to schedule it in. I’m not a football fan but I am now debating it. The love story of Posh and Becks and is one for the ages. The whole thing has given me goosebumps throughout. I’ve laughed, cried and been cheering him on for reruns of games that happened 25 years ago. I also think my Dad would have absolutely loved watching this so it’s been quite a poignant watch for me. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
What is the worst food in the world and why is it celery? It’s like eating the stalk of a flower. Acrid and sour. Who decided it was ever acceptable to be classed as edible? Help do your bit and say no to celery at all costs.
I watched and wept as my sister ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon yesterday. She smashed it and raised a load of money for charity in the process. I thought it would be nice to take some inspiration from preparation. No one wakes up one day and just runs a marathon. It takes weeks of dedication, lifestyle changes and commitment. I want to write a book. But I never will if I don’t put in the work. So I'm serving up a hot dish of tough love this week.
